About the Charleston Farmers Market

The Charleston Farmers Market is located in Marion Square right in the center of historic downtown. It is open from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. every Saturday beginning in mid-April and runs all the way through November. The market also opens on Sundays during the Piccolo Spoleto Festival and for the Holiday Market in December. When you go, you’ll find a wide array of local produce, plants, herbs, beautiful fresh-cut flowers, handmade crafts, jewelry, and one-of-a-kind artwork. There are more than 100 Charleston Farmers Market vendors, including farmers and growers, breakfast and lunch vendors, artists, crafters, live performers, and various community groups. Located on scenic Kiawah Island, Freshfields Village is an outdoor shopping and dining center with a fabulous open-air summer farmers market. The village is open year-round, while the market is open Monday afternoons from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in June, July, and August. Locally-grown organic produce, fresh seafood, jams, jellies, pecans, olive oils, sweets, crafts, and handmade pasta are just a few of the items you’ll discover here. Ambrose Family Farm

Another great place to buy fresh produce is at Ambrose Family Farm in Wadmalaw Island. Depending on the season, you can pick your own strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, or tomatoes in a beautiful and family-friendly setting. The farm is open year-round, Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. It is closed on Sundays, holidays, and during rainy weather. Afterward, don’t forget to stop by their separate store location in Johns Island. The Stono Market and Tomato Shed Cafe carries produce, baked goods, shrimp, take-and-bake dinners, gifts, and so much more.

Rosebank Farms Produce Stand

This lovely produce store is perhaps one of the best-kept-secrets in Charleston! A favorite stop for locals and visitors who know, Rosebank Farms Market offers a great selection of farm-fresh eggs, heirloom tomatoes, vegetables, shrimp, cheese, honey, flowers, artwork, and even handmade sweetgrass baskets. It is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., depending on the season.

North Charleston Farmers Market

The North Charleston Farmers Market is located in a trendy new area called Park Circle. In addition to delicious food, you can enjoy live entertainment, children’s activities, and more. The market is open Thursdays from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. between May 11th and October 24th.
